We are in the delicate two week time period between lunar and solar eclipses. This is a time of dancing with our shadows, needing to be diligent with self exploration, and bravely looking at the parts of our being that need transformation. These big shifts and changes are sealed with the Solar Eclipse occurring on October 23rd which auspiciously is also Diwali, the day of light and a celebration of Maha Lakshmi. Read more about this sensitive time in my Full Moon Eclipse Wisdom article.
Simultaneously, this two week period holds extreme changes, transformations and a very cosmic dance with the planets. There will be four major shifts within hours and days of each other. First Mercury retrogrades back into its sign of exaltation, Virgo (where Rahu is currently) on October 16th. On October 17th, Sun shifts into its sign of debilitation, Libra, on the 17th where it joins exalted Saturn. Saturn will be sandhi at this time (in the gap) and perched at the edge of Libra, ready to jump into Scorpio for a 2.5 year transit on November 2nd! The very next day, on October 18th, Mars jumps into Sagittarius for a short 5 week transit, while Virgo shifts into Libra, its own sign. Talk about movement and change! Libra is significant for helping us find balance and greater stability in our lives. This theme of transformation continues with a stalemate of planets in Scorpio coming next. We need this time of shift over the next two weeks to help us weigh and measure our options before we make some big changes for ourselves over the next few months. So use this time for gathering resources, information, tools and support. What do you need for your ultimate nourishment and support in life? Where are you confused, stuck and vacillating? Who and what in your life is helping you move forward, and who and what are holding you back? This is a time of gathering information. Be diligent. I’ll be sharing more about the day to day details of this powerful time in my Moon Mind Calendar. Be sure to follow along. Horoscopes for the Waning Moon Cycle {October 8th to 23rd} *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart. Aries: Your stomach holds many resources for you about your healing work right now. It’s the home of our intuitive wisdom and gut instincts. Are you listening to what it’s telling you, or are the messages lost in the shadows? Paying close attention to diet and purifying your digestion right now is ideal. Zoom in on your bad habits; these are the things that are holding you back from moving forward in your life. Watch out for drinking, drugs and excess sugar at this time as well as pieces of you that are manipulating yourself and others out of fear. This will be important as your relationship house becomes the focus after the 17th. Taurus: The dance for you right now is between creativity and healing. Listen to your creative impulses, your child like senses, your passions. These hold wisdom for you about what you need in your life to thrive and where you might be holding back. Find the stability and answers you need in your gut, your instincts, your digestion and assimilation of nourishment. Transforming your bad habits will come from finding a new sense of balance with what you need and what you don’t need. It will take a radical approach to loosen and remove these old pieces, the blockages that are holding you back. As Mars and Venus shift on the 18th, you’ll get some support with transforming from your depths. Don’t forget that your creativity is the missing link. Gemini: Matters of the heart seem to carry the most weight with them right now. The emotional body wisdom is crying to you, “Listen to me!” The illusions have been so strong that you have likely been missing these vital messages for quite some time; these are the resources that demand your attention though. How much longer will you bypass your body wisdom, your intuitive wisdom, for the imaginal realms of the mind? You’re being offered a window right now into your creative, passionate being. It beckons to you, yearns for you to jump into the creative flow of your whole being. This is a unique time, one that can untie head and heart, and let them dance more purposefully in duet. Get answers from the pelvis. Cancer: Your shadow dance is between the heart and the courage it takes to live your dreams. There’s a lot of back and forth- fears and illusions playing with you right now. The trick is to capture these illusions when you catch yourself dancing with them, then bring some new light to them once you do. Do not stuff them back into your heart- as disappointments, only to become more haunts and torments. Now is the time to courageously face your set backs, the emotional wounds you are carrying, and passionately transform them. Art will be your medicine, but first you must figure out what really ails you. Leo: The light that is coming from your depths is your most valuable resource right now. These are the pieces of your being that are forcing their way up from your shadows and begging you to see them. It’s a time of restructuring, and endings, with the support of guidance and knowledge. Trust the nourishment in your life and find ways to amplify this support for yourself. What are your greatest needs and what do you need for ultimate comfort and security? There is something you can count on, no matter what. It’s your creativity; your ability to return to and be nourished by your creative powers. Don’t forget this wisdom. Virgo: The magic and mystery you are discovering, stems from your lower chakras. Your roots are shifting, changing; as though you are tilling your own soil. Dancing with feet, legs and pelvis as a primary resource can offer a magnified creative flow and help you find the stability and comfort you are seeking so desperately. This theme continues in the coming weeks and requires your bravery and honesty. What are you most passionate about and craving from your depths? What pieces of your life have yet to be attended to? Your soul is giving you an ultimatum. It’s time to really thrive now, to do what you were born to do. You can no longer pretend your needs don’t matter. Stabilize from the ground up. Libra: It’s your party and you can cry if you want to. There’s a number of fancy dances happening in your sign in the coming days. Ins and outs, losses and gains, returns and revivals. You may feel a sense of renewal and a surge of hope. Capture this and hold it tightly for now. Paint elaborate images with this feeling and nurture it tenderly. These are the delicate seeds that can offer you blossoms in your new solar cycle. With Sun moving out of your shadowed realms and into your head, there’s a sense of rise and shine, though his debilitation softens his shine. Use this time to be radical in your boundaries and find a new balance in the process. Scorpio: Your mantra is shakti. Imbibe it it. Become it. Let it move you, move through you and surrender to its messages. Guard it with your entire being and cultivate more of it within you. Be nourished by it and let this flow continue to move you. Wherever you are losing your spark, your ability to transform and transcend your shadows, shows the blockages that need your greatest attention and intention. Where are you standing still when you desire movement? Where are you feeling malnourished, when you desire a feast? Dance with the shadows for answers and listen to your depths. They are whispering to you for more of this one precious life. Sagittarius: Wisdom and knowledge may be coming to you in surprising ways right now. Your heart is getting clearer in the process of much restructuring; you are definitely lightening your load. As life begins to simplify more and more, you’ll begin to notice the basic requirements that you need for your true nourishment and satisfaction. Less is more; but use this time to determine radically what needs to be let go of in order to really be nourished by what truly serves you. This includes bravely addressing your emotions in new ways and being willing to look at their messages in new ways. Be radical and bold in your giving and receiving. There’s a dance taking place with your polarities. What are you opening to and what are you closing to? Capricorn: The biggest question you face is how to merge all of these seemingly different pieces of yourself into one offering. There is so much you want to do, to say, to be. Is it possible that all of you can be shared with the world, in order to shine brightly and magnificently? Without ruining yourself and your vitality in the process? This pulling in multiple directions can be your downfall, only if you neglect the natural cycles and rhythms of Nature. Let her creative flow tell you when to rise and when to fall. Trust and surrender to her dance. Forcing, pushing and over working are the shadows that need your greatest attention and intention at this time. Ultimate balance will take you far. Go there. Find it. Work with that like your life depends on it. It does. Aquarius: You’ve been working with a low point, a pause recently. And if you’ve really been paying attention, you’ve noticed how important this standstill has been for you and your inner transformational process. There is a new richness, more fertile soil within you so to speak. This is the ground work that you are now ready to plant some potent seeds into. A rich harvest is coming, but continue to digest and assimilate, nourish and be nourished by learning and wisdom. The best way for you to amplify this is through teaching and giving what you know away to others. The teacher learns more than the students. Pisces: The theme of endings and transformations continues for you and your relationship matters. Who are you inviting in and who are you releasing and letting go of permanently? Wisdom and knowledge seem to be the fuel you need for increasing passion and creativity in your life right now, but don’t neglect the role your emotional body and intuitive wisdom play in your awareness and growth. Your emotional body wisdom is also a place of much creativity. Use it as a resource to find out more about what you need in your life and relationships. What fuels your gifts and your giving? Are you sharing from a sustainable place or a place of lack and need? What does your emotional body tell you when you give yourself to others? Save a piece of yourself for yourself. This is a powerful week! Mercury is retrograde, and the full Moon on Wednesday brings with it a full lunar eclipse. We enter a delicate two week period between lunar and solar eclipses at this time. Take this into consideration with your actions and intentions. We are working with shadow and illusions in this gap of time. Dance with them intentionally and may you lift the veil of illusion in some new way!
Monday, October 6th Today’s Intention: Take one step at a time. Take each step with intention. Keep your commitment to grounding, while finding your balance. But keep moving. Moon moves to Purvabhadrapada nakshatra at 03:12 am CDT, inviting in Ajaikapada and another level of Jupiter into our day. Moon is receiving drishti from Mars while it transits Aquarius, which offers charge, action and increased fire. Purvabhadrapada is connected to tapas and penance. Ajaikapada is a form of Shiva, lord of the dance, and reminds us of our human capabilities- balancing struggles, challenges and obstacles as we move forward in life. Pada means foot. It is essential to remember slow, simple steps again today. As Ajaikapada dances, he balances, one foot raised, and one foot firmly grounded. There is a certain purpose, a direct gaze (drishti) and a strong commitment that one must have to keep this sense of balance and grounding simultaneously. These are your reminders for today. Slow, steady steps, using great commitment and purpose as you move. Intention will be a poignant reminder as well. Since Ajaikapada is a Rudra, there is immense strength available here. At what costs are you willing to move forward? Lighten your load, it will make it easier to dance through life. Moon moves to Pisces at 19:25 CDT, joining Ketu there. Moon receives drishti from debilitated Venus, Sun and also Rahu, as well as Jupiter from nine houses away. This will intensify our experience over the next few days leading into the full Moon. More on this in my upcoming Moon Mind Calendar and Full Moon Wisdom article. Tuesday October, 7th Today's Intention: The desire to change ourselves and our lives, requires that we dig deeply down into our depths. Moon transits Pisces with Ketu there as well. Moon and Ketu both receive ample gaze from debilitated Venus, Sun and also Rahu, as well as Jupiter from nine houses away. This will intensify our experience over the next few days leading into the full Moon tomorrow. Just after midnight, Moon jumps into Uttarabhadrapada at 00:51 am CDT. This nakshatra is the latter half of the bhadrapada constellation which symbolizes the front half and back half of a funeral cot; death, transformation and letting go are the focus here. Uttarabhadrapada is ruled by Ahirbudhnya, the serpent of the deep. He is a naga serpent connected to wisdom (not a sarpa serpent connected to illusions) which indicates his immense and vast knowledge- knowledge and wisdom that must be excavated deeply for. He is connected to our subconscious mind, the pieces of our being that are ruling us, but that we must work hard to uncover and transform. He is a serpent, but a serpent we can work with, learn and grow from. The back legs of a funeral cot symbolize that Uttarabhadrapada is helping us liberate, let go of and let the pieces of our story move, change and release. Yesterday we began a very intentional dance- moving us towards the full Moon lunar eclipse and waning Moon cycle. Today, let that dance transform into a very intentional release. What shadows and demons are you ready to release, transform and let go of? The Moon is already in the 15th tithi, the final phase of its waxing phase. Our cups are full and overflowing. It's time to release and let go. Do this with poignancy, intention and commitment as we embark on this final eclipse cycle of the year. Moon moves to Revati nakshatra at 22:38 CDT, nearing exact conjunction with Ketu. Wednesday, October 8th Today's Intention: Total eclipse of the heart. Soften and release, but courageously look at your shadows. Moon will be completely full at 05:49 am CDT while in Pisces and Revati nakshatra. Simultaneously, there will be a lunar eclipse occurring. The eclipse begins at 03:17 am CDT and continues until 08:32 am CDT. The maximum part of the eclipse will be at 05:55 am CDT. Moon in Revati nakshatra at the time of the eclipse in Pisces furthers the symbol of release, endings and letting go while strengthening themes of its ruling planet Mercury. Pushan, the ruling deity of Revati, insures our safe passage and travels, and requests simplicity and purity. He is a protector and helps us find our way back to the path when we are lost. He also can help us retrieve lost or stolen items. This is a special waning Moon cycle that offers us many returns, on multiple levels. Be willing and open to receive messages that will help you strengthen your path, return to and restore your sense of well being, hope and possibility. Be open to comfort and nourishment and reminders that life doesn't have to be hard and forced- it can be lighter and more gentle. This requires us to clear away rubble, debris and anything blocking our path, so vital clearing is truly essential during this eclipse cycle. For full details on the eclipse and the coming waning Moon cycle read my Full Moon Wisdom article. Moon jumps into Aries at 20:44 CDT and into Ashwini nakshatra. Thursday, October 9th Today's Intention: Don't get led by your senses. Reign in your horses. As Moon transits Aries in Ashwini nakshatra, our two week eclipse cycle begins with the Ashwini-Kumara twins leading us towards healing and revitalization. Moon also receives drishti (gaze) directly from exalted Saturn and retrograde Mercury. The Ashwini twins enliven the healing arts and beckon us to rejuvenate through healing modalities such as rasayana treatments and using the creative arts to spark change and vitality within us. Ayurveda is their domain and strength comes as a gift of their healing, symbolized here by a horse. The Ayurvedic strengthening herb, Ashwagandha, is connected to the horse and the root word ashva. Today, make sure self care is a top priority. The two weeks between lunar and solar eclipse, and also the gap between summer and winter (fall), is a delicate time for health and well being. It's a sandhi time, so treat yourself with extra TLC. Start your fall cleanse today if you haven't already. I'm unveiling my new Swati Jr Jewelry collection today. The new Cosmic Collection is inspired by our dance with the Sun, Moon and Stars. Have you joined my FB event? I'll be giving gifts, incentives, discounts and more! Join the trunk show event and get in on the goodies! Moon moves to Bharani nakshatra at 19:16 CDT. Friday, October 10th Today's Intention: Strength and sensitivity go hand in hand. Your vulnerability is your power. Moon transits Bharani nakshatra, ruled by Yama and Venus. Yama brings restraint and is considered the king of dharma, because he determines your karmas at the time of your death. It is through the self control and restraint he provokes that can keep us out of suffering and sin, our own misery. This is a harsh and aggressive nakshatra, one that is ideal for butchering and killing as well as arguments and attacks. The irony is that it is also an extremely sensitive star as seen through its symbol, the yoni. Strength and sensitivity are the perfect pair. Our shadows, our weaknesses, are indeed our greatest gifts. It takes much courage, strength and power to overcome (to kill) our shadows and illusions. Make your actions count and firmly restrain yourself from being led my your asuras (demons). Purify yourself, but always strive for balance. Sun moves to Chitra nakshatra at 13:41 CDT, joining retrograde Mercury and Rahu in this nakshatra. Ruled by Vishvakarma, this is a nakshatra of action, plans and taking powerful, creative steps. The coming weeks are a time to get powerful and poignant, though as Sun nears Rahu, imbalances in our sense of poignancy may be problematic. If there's hesitancy, confusion or lack of clear direction, these are your shadows at play. If you're pushing too hard and forcing outcomes, you are not aligned with the times. Be bold and passionate with your desires, but make sure you are listening to your emotional body wisdom, your intuition, for guidance. Set goals and priorities and get organized! Get creative as the celestial architect Vishvakarma is here to help you rise and shine! Take some solid action steps towards your visions. This alone might clear the fog. Be diligent with your 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Moon moves to Krittika nakshatra at 18:22 CDT. Saturday, October 11th Today's Intention: In order to gain, we must be prepared to lose something. Moon jumps into its degrees of exaltation and into Taurus just minutes after midnight- at 00:14 am CDT. Exaltation only lasts until 05:34 am CDT, but the Moon will still be in its mulitrikona sign where it can maximize its effects at 75%. With Rahu's drishti on the Moon, watch for big rises and falls. Mars also give his direct gaze, making for a piercing and powerful emotional body. Our Moon tides will be high and low; be mindful of extremes and be diligent with emotional body awareness. Do a 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Moon transits Krittika nakshatra at this time and Agni as well as the Sun share their fire with us. Agni is the fire of life and is a powerful transformational part of our beings. We have many different types of Agni within us. We have much to digest: food, emotions, environments, relationships. Agni helps us burn, clarify and purify all of this in order to help us assimilate the nourishment of life. He brings purification, but he cuts and discards in the process. Within any transformation, there is letting go and loss. Krittika is considered a mixed nakshatra; it is both soft and hard. Though we gain nourishment through Agni, we also have to discard what is unnecessary, not useful for us. Consider this a day of the pruning and purifying process. Moon moves to Rohini at 18:08 CDT. Sunday, October 12th Today's Intention: Merge with your abundant creative flow. Go ahead and get lost in it today. Moon transits Rohini nakshatra and Lord Brahma, as well as the creativity of the Moon, are invited into our day. Moon is still in Taurus, its mulitrikona sign (a strong place for the Moon) while receiving drishti from both Rahu and Mars. Our Moon tides will be high and low; be mindful of extremes and be aware of your emotional body awareness. Be diligent with your 3 level check in so you don't mix messages of head and heart. Rohini is arguably the most creative nakshatra as indicated by its ruler Brahma; he created the universe from his navel after all! It's in this vein, we can create, materialize, and align with our true power as mini gods and goddesses in this life time. Our creativity is in fact our one constant gift- offering possibility and our ability to recreate ourselves and our lives over and over again. Without resiliency and reinventing ourselves, life would be stagnant, without growth, change or abundance. Rohini reminds us to welcome in the flow of creativity, the shakti of life, and to rejoice in the material aspects of life now and again. They are a part of this lila, the play of life, after all. Give thanks for for what flows towards you and through you, and let it continue to flow out into the world. Be that gift. Moon moves to Mrigashirsha nakshatra at 18:38 CDT. Monday, October 13th Today's Intention: Nourish from the inside out. Beauty begins within. Moon transits Mirgashisha nakshatra and Soma (another name for Chandra, the Moon) and also Mars are activated. Nourishment from the divine nectar of Soma is life giving. It lubricates the inner channels of our body and keeps us alive and youthful. Soma is lunar energy, but can be cultivated through the right foods and lifestyle practices. Vaidya Rama Kant Mishra speaks readily about "somagenic" qualities in order to enhance our well being. His lineage, the Shaka Vansya Ayurvedic tradition is a wealth of knowledge for increasing Soma within our bodies, mind and emotions. If you are a Moon child like me, and extra sensitive, you will want to educate yourself on this vital health science. The Moon is a creative and charismatic planet. It's sociable and loves to adorn and be adorned. Moon loves beauty, comfort and nourishment. That is why it is connected to Soma. Build soma within you today with self care, creativity and inviting in the Moon; fill your cup of resiliency. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. This is a very sacred time in the Vedic Calendar. The nine nights of Navaratri, dedicated to the goddesses Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati, begins September 25th and culminates on the tenth day which is October 3rd- Vijayadashmi. On this tenth day, it is said that Durga was victorious over the demon Mahishasura. Thus this ten day period is a profound time of overcoming our own demons and gaining insights and wisdom from the Divine Mothers. Join my 10 Day Self Care Challenge and use this time intentionally. For more details about this waxing Moon cycle, and what you can expect from it, read my New Moon Wisdom + Creative Ritual. The upcoming full Moon is October 8th at 05:50 am CDT while Moon is in Pisces, conjunct Ketu. Moon will be in Revati Nakshatra. More details about the significance of this full Moon and the lunar eclipse that occurs, in my next post. Horoscopes for the Waxing Moon Cycle {September 24th to October 8th} *Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. Aries: This is a time of immense pause for you. Slow down. Catch the messages you've been too busy to hear. Get radical with your self care regimen. Avoid excess sweets and alcohol. Don't let bad habits creep back in. Be vigilant with your goals and desires and make sure you're putting actions behind them. Just don't push and strain to get the job done. It's not best use of your efforts and energy. Right now, slowing down will be the most ideal and the most rewarding. Taurus: You continue to grow in courage and expand yourself by bravely opening to new possibilities. Let creativity be a resource for this expansion phase. How can the arts serve your imagination and ingenuity? Learn and grow with new knowledge. Explore what teachers and relationships have to offer you in terms of growth as well. Work with themes of play and passion right now. What kindling is required to get your fire started? Go slow and be intentional. Building a proper fire requires very basic and diligent action steps. Don't just squirt the fire pit with kerosene. Keep your gut clean and don't overindulge. Gemini: You are working with themes of nourishment, comfort and support right now. How can you feel greater abundance on a deeper, more core level? Creativity is a driving force for you and your life. If you are neglecting your creative life force, then you are bound to be miserable. Make sure that every step you take is aligned with your underlying purpose and vision for passion. It's ok to go slow (trust that slow is actually preferred) as long as you aren't martyring your self and your long term visions. Your passions are what keep you alive and filled with life. Step wisely and with a spark in your heart. Cancer: Softening your creative approach right now will be best practice for this time period. Be gently courageous. Be mindful of aversion and avoidance tactics that squash your plans, goals and achievements. Are you getting lost in the details, right and wrong, and the beast of "but it's not good enough?" Be two steps ahead. Meditation and strong mindfulness tactics will serve you well right now. Be diligent with the mental body games, messages and old stories. Notice how they pause you in your tracks and belittle your confidence and action steps. Dive deep and get some answers. Leo: You continue to learn and grow from silence and alone time. Be intentional with retreats and time at the ashram- even if you're just having a spa day in your own bathroom. How can themes of self care inspire you and your offerings to others? How can self care increase your heart and emotional development? Right now, using 3 Level Check-ins will serve you in a myriad of ways. Pause and be witness to your felt senses. Nourishment and security are themes right now. How can you create more nourishment and security through stability and support? Get creative. Hint: Use your body and let it inform your emotional body wisdom. Virgo: Details, details, details. Don't get lost in the details! Planning and over planning are unproductive. Get out of the mind and into the body. Jump into your desires and activate! Relate, co-create and tend to nourishing relationships that inspire you and feed your spirit. The people, places and things that don't nourish you need to be attended to head on. Courage is your best friend right now. Be bold in your actions and take a leap of faith. Try something new, look for new work, transform your self and your career. Seek stability- but from the inside out. Take new and inventive steps. Move towards your dreams and desires. Libra: Taking time for retreats and solitude are essential right now. Are you attending to self care and taking care of your health, healing and spirit? Put relationships on pause right now. It is the necessary self work that will help relationships grow, mature and flourish in the long run. There are some pieces you have been neglecting to see. Where there is discomfort and discord, that is what needs your greatest attention and focus. Don't get lost in the old stories. Instead, work to re-write and transform those old, tired and worn out messages with a fabulous new twist. What would feel nourishing and supportive to you in your life and relationships? Let that be part of the new plot. Scorpio: It's step forward, step backward time. Pluses and minuses increase, sharing their wisdom and advice with you. This is a time of pruning your branches and getting stringent with life's absolute necessities. For a while there you had quite a few irons in the fire. Right now, keep only the most important irons in the flames and keep stoking these diligently. Less is more- for energy, focus and growth. Home and heart are hot as well. Tend to the passions in your heart and let them lead the way towards the essentials. This will make decisions a lot easier. If it doesn't light your fire, get rid of it. Sagittarius: Career is beckoning you. With little details and passionate pauses. What are you noticing? What requires your attention/intention? What can you let go of and release? If it doesn't stoke your heart and inspire you, leave it alone. Your depths are calling you and they want you to dive deep into your bliss. You have a rare opportunity to get nourishment and expansion from the past, to transform it, make it anew, and carry it forward with you. Transcend and transform old behaviors and patterns and let them teach you about your needs for the future. Capricorn: Structure and form are still providing you with new insights and career details. Just don't get lost in the microscopic view. It's a time to be humble and listen. Be alert to nuances within you and within your environment and relationships. What are you noticing? What have you missed? You are learning by teaching and giving knowledge and wisdom to others. Trust this process- even if it feels shaky and uncertain right now. Be mindful of your friendships; they can provide great insight or great destruction. Attract wisely. Aquarius: Nourishment and abundance may feel fleeting right now. Somehow you are not assimilating all the nutrients and nourishment coming towards you. What are you missing? Your gut is a primary resource right now. Are you paying close attention to it? The stomach is a vital part of our intuition, our sense of knowing and our ability to process life, our experiences and our environment. Clean up the gut and nurture it. There are some very old stories you are trying to digest physically right now. Gently clear the blockages, the colon, and attend to elimination. This is both literal and metaphoric. Pisces: Shift, change, release. Repeat. This is the essence of this time for you. Work with this intention diligently for smoother steps. There's a lot to be gained from the release. Have you noticed? Though you are clinging tightly to relationships, many are old and outworn, and no longer serving you. Be radically aware of your needs for stability and support and how false support won't serve your underlying needs. Transformation and transcendence of the old are potent formulas for your growth and wisdom. Need some extra guidance and clarity? Schedule a session with me. Plan your week in tune with nature. Never miss a planetary update. Sign up for my weekly newsletter. Was this post helpful? Please share it with a friend! Thank you. With multiple planets colliding energetically as well as lunar and solar eclipses happening during this waning Moon cycle, we are each feeling the intensity in our own way on an internal level. As is the macrocosm, so is the microcosm and vice versa. Each informs the other. Inner to outer and outer to inner. It is here at this intersection that we are given an opportunity. Using the physical body as an entry point into the exploration of our surroundings and then seeing what arrives on an internal level can be very informative. In the Tamalpa Life Art Process (TLAP) as well as in Paolo Knill's unique Expressive Art Therapy teachings, we see landscape work as a very intentional resource for self development. For me, landscape work has been very foundational this past year and has helped me experience my needs for stability and support more effectively.
Start where you are. Yes, right here and right now. You may wish to begin with a three level check-in to start your navigation process. Scan the mental body and note the experience, images, shapes, words that come to mind. Do the same with emotional body and physical body. This is step number one in self tracking. The next step is to start moving. Use your immediate environment to inform your physical movement. Are you sitting, standing or walking? How are you moving and why? How does the immediate environment (chair, floor, wall, window ledge, desk, sidewalk, trees etc) inform your physical movements? What body parts are you utilizing, not utilizing? What body parts seem to be your default? Work with themes of resistance, push and pull, repetition and pause/hold. Make sure the breath is always moving you and moving through you. Let the breath initiate the movement in other words. Your homework for the next two weeks is using the "landscape exploration" practice regularly. Take it outside on a walk in the woods or through a park. Take it into your office space and work with the local environment and any furniture or walls present. This doesn't have to be a long and lengthy practice, even 5 to 10 minutes can be highly informative. Keep working with themes that arrive and patterns that emerge and build off of them each time you start your "landscape exploration". Harvest your experiences and three level check ins and look for patterns and themes that emerge. Remember: work with what is present. Harvesting Questions: What body part am I working with right now? What is it telling me about the landscape and my environment? How is my body/parts connecting to the available surface? How is my body/parts working with the space in the environment? How can the immediate environment inform my movements? How do my mental/emotional bodies show up in my movements with the environment? How does the environment appear to interact with my mental/emotional bodies? In what ways does the external environment inform my internal landscape? Vice versa? What themes arrive? What body parts continue to be relied upon as I move through the landscape? What resources and insights do the environment and surfaces offer me? What feelings surface? What sensations arrive? Connect with me and my Creative Rituals here. Moon moves through Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and into Sagittarius this week. Moon reaches its fullness on 4.15 at 2:41 CDT while in Libra. More details below as well as in my current planetary report + horoscopes for the waning Moon cycle. Monday, 4.14 Sun is now exalted in Aries, joining Ketu there as well. Sun is in weak degrees until Wednesday so try to get away with using less energy; don't push too hard. Moon finishes up its transit through Virgo today, crossing over Mars directly around noon (the hottest part of the day) and is in close degrees with him throughout the day. This can heat the emotions, create aggression and stir the Pitta. Watch your temper and emotions and if anger arrives, notice what boundaries you allowed to be crossed. Did you say yes, when you should have said no? Moon is in Hasta nakshatra the first part of the day which is ruled by Savitr. He grants us awakening, the dawning of awareness as well as increased creativity and healing potential through the hands. Be present to some stirring, some dawning within you today. What new understanding or insights arrive this morning? The Moon/Mars conjunction can also bring a deepened connection with the Divine Mother- notice where she gives her blessings. Use Gayatri Mantra to start your day. As Moon moves to Chitra at 12:10 CDT, the connection with Vishvakarma strengthens. He is the celestial architect, who helps our building and planning become actualized. He is especially connected to artisans and those wishing to expand their potential. This also marks Hanuman Jayanti, the celebration of Hanuman's birth. The festivities begin when the waxing Moon is at its fullest (15th tithi) and enters Chitra nakshatra during this particular season of the Vedic calendar. Hanuman is considered a Rudra (a god of intense strength and power) and overcame many obstacles and opponents (the rakshasa/demon Ravana and his army) out of love, devotion and service to Lord Raam and goddess Sita. May he serve as a reminder to us of what odds can be overcome, what power we each posses, and what love and devotion can accomplish. The lunar eclipse begins at 11:55 pm CDT as Moon reaches its fullness and crosses paths with the Sun. Tuesday, 4.15 Moon enters Libra just after midnight joining Rahu and retrograde Saturn there as well. It reaches its peak fullness at 2:41 am CDT while in Chitra nakshatra. The lunar eclipse reaches its maximum at 02:46am CDT and continues until 05:36 am CDT. With the direct gaze from Sun and Ketu in Aries, and Jupiter in Gemini, as well as an eclipse, this full Moon is one of intensity and a great collision of energies. It is a good time to evaluate where we are using sheer physical strength and stamina and where we are not effectively using beneficial mental strategy to help us achieve our long term goals and objectives. Become aware of how to do less, while maximizing your efforts. In other words, the mantra "less is more", is still pertinent to the day and to the weeks ahead. This is certainly a time of pruning and cutting out all that is unnecessary. More on the meaning of this full Moon for the coming waning cycle in my planetary report. Moon crosses directly over Rahu late morning. Moon moves to Swati nakshatra at 12:37 pm CDT (ending the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations) which is ruled by the planet Rahu and Vayu, the wind god. The mind and body will likely be clouded today so allow extra time for going about your day. Be careful while driving and traveling today especially. The lunar eclipse marks a delicate two week period until the solar eclipse on the 29th. In the Vedic tradition, this is not a time to take risks, start new endeavors, or to over-exert. It is a time, however, of turning inward, of meditation and contemplation, and a time to take extra care of the physical body with good routine etc. Wednesday, 4.16 Moon moves to Vishaka nakshatra at 12:35 pm CDT ruled by the dual natured god, Indragni and the planet Jupiter. Seek alliance and support today. Notice where you can make changes in your life to create greater assistance for your Self and get things done more efficiently. Are you forgetting to ask for what you need? Are you pushing too hard? Where are you resisting change? As Moon nears Saturn, it is extremely important and valuable to listen to our bodies for subtle insights. What messages is the body giving you? Thursday, 4.17 Moon finishes up its transit through Libra after crossing directly over retrograde Saturn in the wee hours of the morning, then moves to Scorpio at 6:17 am CDT. Moon is considered debilitated in Scorpio which makes the Moon extra sensitive. This sensitivity can be helpful for intuition and a refined awareness, however, it must be handled with care. As Moon moves into Anuradha nakshatra at 12:08 pm CDT, this sensitivity heightens, especially for the physical body and the mind/body connection. Stamina may be lower, so find ways to self care and treat the physical and mental bodies with TLC. The tendency, however, may be to do the opposite. Avoid getting lost in the details, try to zoom out and get a bigger picture if necessary. Reach out to friends and alliances for support and comfort. Work with the theme "giving and receiving." Friday, 4.18 Moon moves to Jyeshta nakshatra just before noon at 11:21 am CDT just as Sun nears exact conjunction with Ketu. The mind and body may be extra sensitive today so take this into consideration if irritations arise. With Indra and Mercury ruling this nakshatra, and the current planetary transits, it is an excellent time for self tracking. Likely the irritations in the mind will be a result of some physical need not being met. Can you trace the issue back to the need? Can you find a healthy way to get your need met? It may require self care strategies, alone time, and restructuring previous plans. You may also need to shift your relationships around. Do what it takes to preserve your mental comfort and physical support. Venus moves into Purvabhadra nakshatra today. We may notice an increase in relationship and financial support as a result over the next 12 days, while using a one pointed focus and agenda. This can also be a time of purification and change as well; allow the change, don't resist it. Saturday, 4.19 Moon moves to Sagittarius and into Mula nakshatra at 10:17 am CDT and receives direct drishti/gaze from Jupiter seven houses away in Gemini, retrograde Saturn in Libra, as well as retrograde Mars in Virgo. Mula is also a challenging nakshatra that often is responsible for a sense of chaos and dishevelment. Don't plan to be anywhere on time today- or expect to arrive in an orderly fashion. Best use of time and energy is with restorative measures for the mental, emotional and physical bodies. The rulers of Mula are Ketu and Nirrti (the dark goddess married to adharma- against dharma). She brings uprooting, change and removals, but the end results can be greater overall health and wellness. With Ketu and Sun in close degrees today and in Ashwini nakshatra respectively, this is a great day to pay special attention to the physical body, to use healing remedies and to put attention on self care regimens. Additionally, Mercury is weak in degrees in its sign of debilitation which requires careful navigation of the mental body, communication and decision making. Use your inner wisdom and go for silence today. Sunday, 4.20 Mercury moves to Aries at 6:56 am CDT, joining exalted Sun and Ketu there as well. Moon moves to PurvAshada nakshatra at 9:01 CDT. Apas the water goddess rules the day. Allow flow to happen. Where are you stopping fluidity in your life? Where is the resistance to movement, change, growth and new possibilities? Focus your efforts and attention on abundance, life giving support and your own vitality today. Right now it is all about self care. |
